For the Love of the Working Dog
It is important to us that we breed only dogs that pass our health standards. We test and certify our dogs with OFA for Hips, Elbows, Thyroid, Cardiac and DNA. We put a great emphasis on producing puppies that are not at risk of developing Degenerative Myelopathy.
Although we put a great priority on health certifications and genetics, we also know that selecting the right male for the right female is equally as important. Lineage, Temperament, Drive and bidability play a tremendous part of our successful breeding program.
We came up with the name SentinelHarts
because of the amazing role these very special dogs play in our lives, like guardians of our heart, home and loved ones.
Sentinel: noun
1.
a person or thing that watches or stands as if watching.–
2.
a soldier stationed as a guard to challenge all comers and prevent a surprise attack: to stand sentinel.
3.
to watch over or guard as a sentinel.
Hart: Our last name...
Our dogs each enjoy time out and about on our property. In the summer they swim in the canal at the back of our property. We do have secure dog runs for our dogs so that those who do not get along can be safely separated from each other and so that we can be free to leave the property from time to time knowing everyone is secured. Most of our runs are 20x20 and have dog buildings on them so that the dogs can get out of the rain or sun.
Our Puppies are whelped in large whelping areas and are raised in the yard shown below. They have daily human interaction and are exposed to our farm animals, including goats, chickens, ducks and cats
I grew up surrounded by animals and have always had a love for them. There has never been a time in my life where I did not have a dog in my home, I expect there never will be................ Camilla
